Dive Buddy Day at AMASIS!
Established in 2025 to celebrate AMASIS’s first birthday.
Yes – we were also surprised that the international diving community hadn’t officially recognized Dive Buddy Day.
There are:
- International Diving Day – August 6th
- Women’s Diving Day – July 19th
- Diving Diversity Day – May 21st
- World Reef Day – June 1st
- World Oceans Day – June 8th
- UN International Day of Friendship – July 30th
– and they’re all important. But where is the recognition for those who contribute to the safety of each of our dives?
Buddy System in Diving
It’s not just protocol – it’s trust, support, friendship. We dive in pairs. We look out for each other. We laugh, we learn, we help, we share air, we sometimes rescue… and we share our fascination with the Big Blue. That’s why we took matters into our own hands and gave our diving partners the holiday we all deserve!
June 8th – easy to remember because it’s also World Oceans Day.
